This story by Jonathan Barnes, is functionally a Who story, but, in truth it is a really a story about life, and growing old, and of how we recall our past and how that in itself can bear a presence in the future. The story is told through the narration of Anneke Wills, and is set in the first Doctor era. It tells of there encounter with an alien, and alien who for all intense and purposes appears to be an Angel. Of course it isn’t (god forbid) but the almost ethereal manner and feel of the story, makes you wonder. There is almost a hypnotic feel within the story telling and the manner and rhythm of the words that play out as the story unfolds. However, this is or feels like a very short story so enjoy it, as it will pass quickly. Again it strengthens the whole range as this release unlike previous ones where you wonder if the length will detract from the whole thing, this is about the right amount of time. It’s like an a audio amuse-bouche. There is not much else to say, apart from listen, sit back, relax and enjoy.
